Hello! Thank you so much for visiting my site! Those of you who know me, know that I have undergone some intense transformations over the past couple years. For those of you who don’t know me, it’s nice to meet you! I hope sharing my story will help inspire you the same way I was inspired when I began my journey into yoga about 4 years ago!
My goal this past year has been to transition my whole world towards health and fitness. I aim to inspire people just like you to take yourself out of your comfort zone and try something new. I truly believe yoga is for absolutely everyone. I contemplated for months how to convey my message and get my thoughts out into the universe while also offering a gateway into this world. Hence, Shayna Frankel wellness was born!
Through breath-work and movement, yoga allows us to find relaxation, clear the mind, and let go. This fosters a healthier, more fulfilled lifestyle and gives an experience that can leave you a changed person. The day-to-day stressors of life can cause us to feel overwhelmed and anxious at times. Four years ago, that is exactly where I was.
I had spent the last 3 years working and managing a fast paced restaurant. Working 75 hours a week made a work-life balance next to impossible. Working every night, weekend and holiday at the restaurant meant no time for family and friends, let alone time for self-care. I had somehow forgotten how to relax and just breathe.
Thankfully we don’t need to consciously think about breathing, but how often did I take a second to focus on long, deep, soothing breathes? My stress shallowed my breath and I had somehow lost the ability to control my emotional reactions. A good friend brought me to Tranquil Space, a yoga studio in Dupont Circle, DC. After a month, I was hooked! I begged to work for free yoga and saw a huge difference in my day-to-day life! As a changed person I jumped at the chance to enroll in teacher training and explore how I could help people using the skills I acquired.
